Job Context
  • The main purpose of this position is to ensure the quality of the implementation of the Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) & Gender and support Project Manager, Sub-district coordinators, Programme Officers and Community level promoters & facilitators in SRHR & Gender activities implementation in light with ENRICH project design.
  • The position will develop and implement a capacity building plan for project staff, partners and stakeholders along with Project work plan.
  • The position is responsible for identifying key strategic partners for implementation of the Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) & Gender and sharing learning, concerns, and best practice with Project manager-ENRICH and other relevant colleagues.
  • This position will maintain strong and regular external engagement with GoB Health & Family Planning stakeholders in the Project areas.
  • SRHR & Gender Specialist should cover all project Upazillas / project locations. This position will be based at Project Head Office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff and facilitators within Primary Focus Areas (PFA)/Union under project working Upazilla, are following SRHR & Gender standards and implementing SRHR & Gender activities as per project plan/design
  • Provide subject matter expertise such as technical knowledge, professional suggestions and guidance
  • Assess capacity and implement capacity building plans for field level staffs, Community Promoters and Facilitators and key programme / project partners
  • Facilitated Gender & Men Care Model & SRHR Intervention in ENRICH Project
  • Follow-up and monitoring Gender equality strategy considering five domains in ENRICH Project
  •  Monitors and ensures quality of overall program at upazillas by frequent field visit and conduct quality assessments of activities for program improvement. Information from monitoring is shared with Project manager-ENRICH and Upazila/Sub-district Coordinators for prompt action
  • Capacity building initiatives on Life skills for Women self- help group and Adolescent Power savings groups for reducing VAWG and Early Force Marriage (EFM)
  • Coordinates and provides quality support to the field level organizations/committees/organization like Community Group/Community Support Group/Women Self-help Group/Adolescent Power savings group/relevant Sexual and Reproductive Health Right (SRHR) Committees/ CBO/Child Forum/Youth forum etc
  • Manage works efficiently through prioritizing and allocating resources and tracking progress of key SRHR monitoring indicators (activity / output / outcome)
  • Prepare materials for Gender Toolkit and Men Care Model approach and ready project staff successfully follows the model
  • Support project proposal writing, as well monitoring the projects within the Upazilla of implementation. Undertakes assessments and research to support grant acquisition and new project development.
  • Build relationship with local level networks/coalition for local level advocacy and ensuring support for implementation of the SRHR
  • Strengthened gender-responsive governance, policy and public engagement of MNCH and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights in Canada and target countries
  • Strengthening health systems capacity to improve SRHR services at ENRICH areas facilities
  • Facilitate training for Project staff, Government staff, and Adolescent and Women groups on SRHR, Gender Issues and Men Care Model
  • Assessment of SRHR knowledge, service availability and usage (this was included in the baseline survey, Micronutrient Initiative will add SRHR barrier analysis in the nutrition formative research)

Educational Requirements
  •  Essential: Advance Degree in Medicine / Public Health, /and or other related Social Science field, and good understanding for Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) & Gender
  • Desirable: Post graduate degree on public health reproductive health or nutrition or Social Science
Experience Requirements

    At least 3 year(s)

Additional Requirements
  • Age at least 30 years
  • Basic health and nutrition competencies like Reproductive Health, SRHR, and Special knowledge on Gender Toolkit and Men Care Model, anthropometry, child growth monitoring, PD/Hearth project models, 7-11 Approach, ANC, PNC, integrated WASH models etc
  • Database management, statistical skills and ability to evaluate program data. Evaluation and Monitoring process and tools
  • Good facilitation skills of Training, Orientation, Workshop and Advocacy programs
  • Management and leadership ability
  • Good communication and networking skill
  • Good proficiency in English & Bengali, both written and verbal
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation
  • Understanding of multiculturalism and experience working in a multi-cultural/ethnic/religious environment
  • Good report writing and documentation skills
  • Minimum of 2-3 years working experiences in the area of Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR), Gender project/relevant project /interventions
  • Proven experience in implementing, facilitating and contributing to Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR), Gender issues
  • Proven experience as a team player
  • Work environment 70% Office based and 30% field based
